FULTON, NY – John C. Hartranft, 73, of Mexico, NY, formerly of DeLeon, Texas, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY, after a brief illness.
He was born March 19, 1944, in Australia, the son of the late Kenneth and Margaret Rennes Hartranft, moving to the United States with his mother at age two, while his father served in the Marine Corps.
John was employed in the construction industry for more than 40 years, retiring in 2002.
John will be forever missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Claire; sons, John, Douglas, Christopher and Stephen Hartranft; daughter, Lanessa O’Donnell; step-children, Anthony J. Polito and Angela M. Polito-Smith; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna (Chuck) Merritt, Michelle (Michael) Hogan, Gregory (Dawne) and Gary (Melody) Hartranft; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service to immedietly follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
