Nancy Gritzer Haney, 72

FULTON, NY – Nancy Gritzer Haney, a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Wednesday June 27, 2012, at the age of 72, with loved ones by her side.

She was born April 22, 1940, in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter to the late Michael and Anna Krizansky Gritzer.

After graduation from high school, Nancy married Thomas P. Haney and they lived in New Jersey where she worked as an executive secretary and as a realtor before moving to Fulton.

While in Fulton, Nancy worked for many years at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital as the Director of Volunteer Services.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Thomas P. Haney; two sisters, Shirley Demyan and Evelyn Thomas.

She is survived by her son, Sean Patrick Haney; a brother-in-law, George Thomas; four sisters-in-law, Agnes Naugle, Virginia Witherow, Roberta Vasbinder and Rosemary Zimmerman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Haney may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 or to the American Red Cross, Onondaga-Oswego Chapter, 220 Herald Place, Syracuse, NY 13202.

  1. Nancy rented my condo in Myrtle Beach for many years. I know she considered it her Southern home. Even though I met her only one time, I felt she was a friend since I talked to her so often. Sorry for your loss.
