Nancy Ostness, 72, of Volney, passed away Thursday.

Prior to moving to Volney she had worked as a nurse in Detroit. Nancy worked as a cake decorator at Carvel Ice Cream for more than 27 years. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for Fulton Elk B.P.O.E 830. Nancy enjoyed flower gardening, playing bingo and canvas sewing. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Leonard Ostness, who passed away May 11.

Surviving: a daughter, Lisa (Worden) Somers of Sterling; two sons, Lawrence J. (Constance) Ostness of Fulton and Lee A. Ostness of Baldwinsville; daughter-in-law, Ginny Ostness of Fulton; sister, Shirley Forlenzo; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Heath, Krystal, Brandi, E.J., Mikayla and Jacob; a great-granddaughter, Olivia; a niece, Merrilee Ferber and nephew, Jim Forlenzo and several other nieces.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday with a service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Burial will follow at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.

Contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to the Golisano Children’s Hospital, 750 E. Adams St., CAB 326, Syracuse, 13210.
