Norma “Genie†Austin, 85, of Fulton, died Monday at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Richland, she was a graduate of Mexico High School and resided in Fulton for many years. She had worked at Montgomery Ward, Nestle Company and Sealright Company all in Fulton. Norma was a co-owner of Austin’s Emporium Tropical Fish with her husband for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Homer in 2008; a daughter, Sharon Reese; a son, John Austin; four sisters, Leah Woodward, Arlene Sheffield, Elma Larmon and Marian “Tootie†Richardson; brothers, Harold and James Griffin.
Surviving: two daughters, Karyl (Douglas) Montroy of Fulton and Mary (David Fournier) Gordner of Phelps; a son, Kevin (Sandy) Austin of Fulton; a sister, Joan Daniels of Theresa; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. Burial at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
