PHOENIX, NY – Asa Adam Williams Sr., 87, former Phoenix, NY, resident, passed away at Syracuse Home Association, Baldwinsville, on Wednesday Jan. 18, 2012.
He was born to his late parents, Hazel (Gates) and Aries Williams on March 2, 1924.
He was a machine operator for Sealright Corporation, Fulton, retiring in 1986.
Asa was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, the former Helen I. Burton, on Feb. 21, 2011; his brother, Irving Casler; and his sister, Edna Regan.
Surviving are his children: son, Asa A. (Patricia) Williams Jr. of Syracuse and two daughters, Eloise B. (William) Weston and Cathy L. (Robert) DeJohn all of Syracuse; two brothers, Clifford Casler of Phoenix and W. Joseph Casler of North Carolina; one sister, Ella Mae Fraser of Brewerton; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Syracuse Home Association for the wonderful care of their father.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix.
Burial will be in Chase Cemetery, Lysander, at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service, in the funeral home, 431 Main St.
