Betty Hill Fullington, 92

OSWEGO, NY – Betty Hill Fullington, 92, a former resident of St. Luke Apartments in Oswego, passed away Sunday March 16, 2014, at St. Luke Health Services.

Betty was born in the town of Wales in Erie County, NY.

She was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Helen (Hill) Hoffower.

She had also lived in East Aurora, NY, and Dade City, Fla.

Betty was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with her husband, Budge, and other friends.

She played in and won many amateur tournaments.

She also enjoyed knitting and ceramics.

She is survived by a daughter, Sally (Stanley) Cienava of Oswego; a son, Terry (Suzy Quinlan) Fullington of Salem, Ore.; and a daughter-in-law, Isabelle Fullington of Howard, Ore.

Grandma Betty especially enjoyed her nine grandchildren, Colleen Ward, Elizabeth (Tad) Squires, Garth Fullington, Bridgette (Stephen) Fullington, Jonathan (Shawna) Fullington, Angela Fullington, Thomas Lyle Fullington II, Jacob (Rachel) Williams and Geoffrey Williams; and her 17 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Ward, Mark Parsons Ward, Jeremy Ward, Keegan Ward, Jonah Squires, Camden Squires, Mackenzie Squires, Jesse Studey, Madeline Studey, Logan Fullington, Dylan Fullington, Garry Cooper, Dakota Cooper, Brooklyn Fullington, Kara Williams, Quinn Williams and Violet Williams.

Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lyle G. (Budge) Fullington, who died in 2002; a son, Thomas Lyle Fullington, who died in 2012; and three sisters, Mariam Rhodes, Helen Walker and Joy Abendschein.

Services will be private.

Burial will be in Holmes Hill Cemetery in the town of Wales.

There are no calling hours.

Betty’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s, especially the loving caregivers on the fifth floor.
