Clare I. Souva, 76

OSWEGO, NY – Clare I. Souva, 76, a resident of County Route 57 in the town of Volney, passed away Wednesday November 13, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Souva was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Howard and Genevieve (Johnson) King.

She was a life resident of Oswego County.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the cafeteria department of the Fulton City School District.

Mrs. Souva enjoyed bluegrass music and was a member of the Bluegrass Association. She especially loved playing bingo.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Souva of Volney; two daughters, Penny (Gary) Jackson of Granby and Brenda (Jack) Barlow of Oswego; three sons, Donald (Deb Holland) Parkhurst of Fulton, John (Donna) Parkhurst of Camden and Jody Souva of Granby; two sisters, Joan Sampson of Lowville and Marlene (Howard) DeGroff of Central Square; nine grandchildren, Tanya, Andy, Jeremy, John, Jessica, Justin, Derek, Joshawa and Kevin; 11 great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Karen King; and a brother, Jesse King.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
