OSWEGO, NY – Jonathan E. Sorendo, 27, a resident of Ridge Road, Oswego, passed away Wednesday February 29, 2012, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of Theresa Parsons Sorendo of Walnut Port, Pa., and Louis Sorendo of Oswego.

Jon was employed as a property manager for Pioneer Company in Syracuse.

He lived for the outdoors.

He was a member of the Port City Bass Masters, the Federation and the FLW.

Surviving, besides his parents, is the love of his life, Kathleen Dinan; maternal grandmother, Marlene Raponi of Oswego; paternal grandparents, Lorraine and Leo Doyle of Liverpool; four brothers, Jason (Amy) Roy of Minetto, Mark (Danielle) Roy of Oswego, Michael Sorendo of Oswego and David (Jenna) Sorendo of Auburn; aunts and uncles, Becky (Stan) Shambo, John Parsons, Dan Parsons, Karen (Paul) Lieckel, Shari (Jerry) Smith, Annie (Gary Palmitesso) Raponi Tuttle, Eric (Tammy) Raponi, Michael Sorendo, Mary Beth Sorendo, John Sorendo; nieces and nephews, Kaileigh and Maddox Roy, Peyton and Nolan Roy, Miley and Kelsey Sorendo; many cousins and close friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Anthony Raponi; paternal grandfather, Michael Sorendo; and great-grandparents Louis and Grace Christino.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Church.

Calling hours will be held 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jon’s name to the Central NY Eye and Tissue Bank, 517 E. Washington St. Syracuse, NY 13202.

  1. Hi this is Jonathans cousin from Louisville,KY. My love goes out to my uncle and aunt and my cousins. I couldn’t imagine the pain you feel for you’re lost.i’m deeply hurt that I want able to see him one last time before he passed away.I will be making the trip up there to visit with the family and grieve for our lost.much love to you John,and family
