OSWEGO, NY – Margreta Beatrice Liebenauer, 74, died in her home Monday June 24, 2013, from complications with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was the daughter of the late Amos and Elizabeth (DeVree) Palmer of Middleville, Mich.
Margreta earned her RN from Mercy School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, Mich., and her BSN and MSN from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
She taught for a number of years in the BOCES LPN program in Mexico, NY.
Margreta was a member of the P.E.O., the Philanthropic and Educational Organization, and the past president of the Oswego Town Historical Society.
She enjoyed travelling extensively with her husband in France and other Western European countries as well as in the United States.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; her son, Eric and his wife, Tammy of Georgetown, Kentuck, and their two children, Bryce and Brennan; her daughter, Kara Liebenauer of Owensboro, Kentucky, and her daughters, Illa, Leann and Ryan; her twin sister, Bernice Wood of Lexington, Kentucky, sister, Enid (Robert) Adkin of Middleville, Mich.; and brother, Fred (Margret) Palmer of Hastings, Mich. and Arcadia, Fla.
Arrangements will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or Oswego County Hospice in her memory are suggested.

I have many fond memories of Mrs.Liebenauer in LPN school back in 1989,i still remember many of the skills she taught me,may she rest in peace.Sincerely Vicki Nelson
Kara and family, I am so sorry for your loss! I remember Kara when we were in Campus School together and I would come over and stay the night at your home from time to time! You mom was always so sweet! I can remember her trying to get me to eat dinner when I was there but I was always too shy! I also remember the time we got in trouble after we fell in the muddy water at Rice Creek down the road from your house! I am betting we would not have gotten in trouble if we hadn’t gotten mud and water all over the floor!
May your mom have peace in heaven where she will be free of the Alzheimer’s!
