Mary A. Driscoll McGiff, 90

OSWEGO, NY – Mary A. Driscoll McGiff, 90, of Oswego, passed away on Monday May 2, 2016.

Mary was the daughter of the late James and Agnes (Wise) Driscoll.

Mary was a homemaker and later worked at Wayne’s Drugs.

On October 5, 1946, she was married to James J. McGiff.

Together they had four children, Mary Colleen Sweeney, James (Eileen) McGiff, Susan (Stephen, Jr.) Gioia and Julie (James) Porter.

She was also the proud grandmother to Brian, Amy and Adam Sweeney, Jessica (Nat) Drapiza, Matt (Jessica) McGiff and Stephen and Stacy Gioia.

She also had three great-grandchildren, Griffin and Madeline Drapiza and James (Jimi) McGiff.

She is also survived by her “precious boy” Spuds, her cat.

She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved brother, James (Kip) Driscoll who gave his life in World War II; and a son-in-law, Donald V. Sweeney Jr.

There are no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Church.

Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Nelson Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
