OSWEGO, NY – Maureen Kelsey, 63, of Oswego, passed away Wednesday evening May 27, 2015, at her home.
She was born in Java, Indonesia, and was the daughter of Vera Kroese van de Rosiere and the late Charles van de Rosiere.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Eric Alan Kelsey; and her daughter, Jayme Marie Kelsey.
Maureen grew up in California with the sounds of the ocean always with her.
Later, as a Navy wife and mother, she demonstrated her strength of character and her love for her family as she persevered through 11 moves, five schools and four different states.
When she found herself in Oswego, she found comfort in the friendships she developed as a Girl Scout troop leader and a member of the Red Hat Society.
It will be quiet without her.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

My friend Maureen, I will miss you and your vibrant personality! All the things we shared and said how we were “kindred spirits”- how true! How true! I still owe you for lunch, so I will take your Jayme and we will talk about you. I could not ask for a more patient, caring & kind friend- nor could anyone who was privileged enough just to meet you. You were a wonderful mother and wife! And…to have you by my side in times of need- no one more you would want by your side during a fight! God bless and keep you in the hollow of his hand until we meet again. To Jayme & Eric: if there is anything you need, I am just “a stones throw” away or a walk down the street (or the opposite, if you want me to come to you!). I wish you and your family peace, especially ever time you think of all the wonderful times you were able to spend together.
I didn’t know Maureen well, but she was a joy. I was looking forward to getting to know her better this year when I returned from my winter home. She was always talking about Jayme and how proud she was of her. She said she had the best husband! Maureen was always happy and fun. I will miss her.
