Anthony O. Iosue, 94

OSWEGO, NY – Anthony O. Iosue, 94, of Oswego, died Tuesday June 12, 2012, in Oswego Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Iosue was born in Auburn and has been a resident of Oswego since 1940.

Mr. Iosue served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 until 1945.

He was a former member of the Dante Alighieri Lodge # 436, Oswego.

He was a firefighter for the city of Oswego until his retirement in 1976.

Mr. Iosue was predeceased by his wife, Sara Iosue, in 2004.

He is survived by his second wife, Joyce Arnold; his sons, Anthony J. (Barbara) Iosue of Florida and David J. (Gail) Iosue of Oswego; brother, Sonny (Joanna) Iosue of Florida; sister, Loretta (Kenneth) Davis of Auburn; his grandchildren, Andrea, Allan, Callie and Eric; great-grandchildren, Addison, Isabella, Vaughn, Preston and Cayden.

Funeral services will be conducted 9 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum.

Calling hours will be Thursday 4 – 7 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.

    I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The feeling is all to familiar and wish I could offer more than condolences. I am so happy that we had a chance to visit with Uncle Tony when we went to Florida Dec. 2010. He made a lasting impression on Megan and Gina. I am glad they got to meet him. We will all miss him.

  5. A man larger than life; an inspiration to all who were lucky enough to have known him. Paul and I are deeply sadden with Tony’s passing. We will miss him but never forget him. Our sincere sympathy to all of his family.
