FULTON, NY – Arlene A. Hopman, 99, formerly of Fulton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday May 20, 2016, at The Grand in Chittenango, Chittenango, NY.
Mrs. Hopman was born in Fulton, to the late Richard and Gladys (Sommers) Acker.
She was a resident of Fulton for most of her life.
Mrs. Hopman was a past member of the Fulton Elks Lodge and the Fulton V.F.W. Post #569 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Hopman was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Nicholas Hopman, in 2003; their daughter, Sharon Hopman, in 1944; and siblings: Richard Acker, Fred Acker, Helen Hayden, Dorothy Gifford, and Betty Moon.
Mrs. Hopman is survived by her three children: Richard (Kay) Hopman of Florida, Gerald (Theresa) Hopman of Texas and Mary (Robert) Blanchard of Canastota, NY, six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Monday, May 23, at Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Schultz.
Burial will be held St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
There will be no calling hours.
The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, has care of the arrangements.
