OSWEGO, NY – Thomas M. Carr, 70, of Scriba, died Thursday morning October 5, 2017, at his home with his family at his side.

Tom was born in Lincoln, NH, the son of the late Lawrence and Shirley (Connery) Carr.
He was an operating engineer for IUOE Local # 545, Syracuse, for 49 years.
Tom was past president of IUOE Local #545, Syracuse, and he was a member of the Oswego Elks.
He enjoyed going hunting and deep sea fishing.
He was an avid hockey fan, and especially loved to watch his son and grandchildren play hockey.
Tom was all about family and spending time together, especially when they traveled to the Carr family camp.
Tom is survived by his wife of 47years, JoAnn Carr of Scriba; and their children, Tammy (Michael) Rodgers of Oswego and Mitch (Tina) Carr of Florida; grandchildren, Matt and Allie Rodgers, and Raymond and Jaydon Carr.
In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Bill (Dorothy) Carr of Scriba, Darrell (Bobbi) Carr of Oswego, Donald (Julie) Carr of Hannibal, Ryan “Nick” Carr of Oswego, and Darlene Grey of New Hampshire; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 9, at 7 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family has requested contributions to be made to Friends of Oswego County Hospice.
