Oswego River report:
The water flow was running between 3,000-6,000 CFS the last couple of days. This morning it is flowing at 3,210 CFS. Cold temperatures have limited the number of anglers on the river this week but those venturing out found some nice fish. A number of brown trout kept those anglers busy along with some steelhead.

Notice: There are mandatory personal flotation device (PFD) zones on the river. For more information, visit our website at www.visitoswegocounty.com and click on the Fishing Report along the top bar on the home page. The Oswego Fire Department offers loaner life jackets at no charge through its “Loaner for Life” program. For more information contact the fire station, 35 E. Cayuga St., at 315-343-2161.

Salmon River report:
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
Seven guests checked in with us over the course of Tuesday. Five left late morning with two of them reporting no success and the other three reporting four steelhead among them using worms, egg sacs, and “grubs.” Two others left early afternoon, one reporting a 22” brown trout using blue egg sacs under a bobber. The other reporting three steelhead drifting beads under a bobber. A later pair, who returned to fish the afternoon, reported another brown trout to their credit. We had a dozen anglers join us on the run Wednesday. While many anglers had a difficult time bringing a fish to hand, we had a few reports of 1’s and 2’s of dime bright steelies. Slush was a factor especially this morning in the lower half of the run. The flow is at 335 CFS and 482 CFS at Pineville.

According to Whitaker’s Sport Shop & Motel:
We only picked up a couple of inches from the recent snowstorm that came through, the heaviest of snow totals were south and east of here. Over the last several days the nighttime temperature has been in the teens and slush ice has been a factor in the lower end of the river in the mornings but has been clearing in the afternoon. The few anglers we spoke with fished the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville with mixed results.

Oneida Lake report:
When conditions have been good, anglers are finding walleye casting stickbaits from shore just before and after dark. Although we have had some cold days this week, there does not appear to be a long stretch of cold, ice-making temperatures in the next couple of weeks. The daily limit for walleye on Oneida Lake is 3 fish, 15-inches or greater.

Sandy Pond report:
There is little to report from the pond at this point until we get a good stretch of cold temperatures for some safe ice. missing or outdated ad config
