OSWEGO– January 24, 2024, The employees of Oswego Health truly embody our mission as they step up to support the Employee Giving Campaign through donations to the Oswego Health Foundation. The Employee Giving Campaign committee is happy to report that they raised over $69,000 in 2023. A total of 308 employees of the nonprofit healthcare system personally donated to support priorities within the organization.

The Employee Giving Campaign, also known internally as “We are the First Step”, is an annual giving campaign just for Oswego Health’s 1,300+ employees. This campaign supports the efforts of Oswego Health to provide quality, accessible care to the community through all of its affiliates.  By participating, employees partner together to support one another, patients, and the community.

Funds raised as part of the 2023 Employee Giving Campaign supported the purchase of a SAVI SCOUT® Localization System, a walkway to the pavilion at the health system’s 120-bed skilled nursing facility, Seneca Hill Manor which will provide a smoother path for its residents in wheelchairs and walkers to be able to enjoy the outdoor pavilion. Lastly, employees chose to renovate the waiting area in the Emergency Department at Oswego Hospital.

“The committee felt strongly about supporting the purchase of a SAVI SCOUT® system,” explained Katie Pagliaroli, MS, BSN, RN, SVP of Clinical Operations & Chief Nursing Officer and Co-Chair of the Employee Giving Campaign. “This equipment helps make breast cancer treatment more comfortable, and localized, and stops patients from having to be transported from radiology back to the surgery center before procedure with a needle sticking out of their surgery site.”

“As part of this campaign, our committee votes on projects and initiatives within the healthcare system they want to financially support,” shared Judy Walsh, Employee Giving Co-Chair and Plant Operations Director at the Manor at Seneca Hill. “To have such generous staff speaks volumes to the dedication and commitment our employees have for not only Oswego Health but our patients and community.”

The Employee Giving Committee consists of representation from across the healthcare system, including Katie Pagliaroli, Co-Chair, Judy Walsh, Co-Chair, Jennifer Baker, Margaret Barclay, Joy Bifera, Nancy Blais, Mike Cali, Linda Cole, Heather Davis, Kristen Denick, Gail Dodski, Heather Dunsmoor, Jennifer Fassano, Theresa FitzGibbons, Kathaleen Gentile, Christine Hanley, Michele Hourigan, Rebecca Kimberly, Liam Martin, Megan McManus, Kelly Montagna, Yvonne Rieckhoff, Michelle Rockwood, Monica Rupert, Cheryl Stilwell, Cindy Tascarella, Cindy Tonkin, Laurie VonHoltz, and Arlene Young.
