Iladora: Pet of the Week

OSWEGO – Iladora is a 12-year-old white fluff cloud who has fully embraced her role as the neighborhood cranky old lady. She enjoys company. She enjoys head pets. She enjoys quietly existing in the same room as you while judging your life choices.

What she does not enjoy are pets on her back, shoulders, belly, tail, or any other location she has not personally approved. Head scratches? Wonderful. Touch the wrong spot? Expect a strongly worded complaint.

The funny thing is she’ll often be purring while she’s telling you off.

Iladora recently lost the elderly gentleman she called her person, and she’s learning that new humans can be trusted. She’s a little suspicious at first, but underneath that grumbly exterior is a sweet cat who genuinely enjoys companionship. She’s not clingy, needy, or demanding. She simply likes having her people nearby.

Other cats? Absolutely not. Iladora has retired from making new feline friends and would prefer to be the only cat in the household. Treats, however, remain an effective peace treaty and can usually secure forgiveness for any accidental violations of the Petting Rules.

She’s low-maintenance, easy company, and an excellent choice for someone who appreciates a cat with opinions, boundaries, and a healthy sense of self-importance. If you’ve always wanted a tiny white grandmother who supervises your activities, accepts tribute in the form of treats, and occasionally blesses you with purrs, Iladora is waiting to meet you.
