Oswego County Sheriff’s Office: Monday, 8/31/09

On 8/28/09, David S. Pendergraph, 55, of 355 Wide Waters, Auburn, NY, was operating a 2005 Ford pickup truck southbound on SR 104 in the Town of Hannibal at 2:02 p.m. when he entered the intersection of SR 3 and collided with a westbound 1998 Nissan pickup truck driven by Dale L. Mattison, 59, of 4209 Mount Read Blvd., Rochester, NY. The impact caused the Nissan to overturn with its driver being transported to the Oswego Hospital by ambulance. Traffic control disregard appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident. Mr. Pendergraph was ticketed for Passed Red Light.

On 8/28/09 at 5:45 p.m., Nathan Z. Krakowski, 24, of 331 Chattahoochee Drive, Bear, Delaware, was charged with Operation While Registration Suspended and Operation Without Insurance (insurance lapse on 8/28/09) following an investigation into a disabled vehicle on I-81 in the Town of Hastings. Mr. Krakowski was issued tickets returnable to Town of Hastings Court on 9/14/09 and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

On 8/28/09, Derek Weldin, 53, of 671 Rathburn Road, Oswego, NY, was operating a 1999 Ford pickup truck westbound on South Granby Road in the Town of Granby at 7:58 p.m. when he reportedly lost control and drove off the roadway 5/10 of a mile west of CR 14, down an embankment where he struck a tree head on. Mr. Weldin, the sole occupant, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Syracuse. Driver inattention/distraction appears to have been a contributing factor in the incident. Mr. Weldin was ticketed for Not Wearing a Seat Belt.

On 8/29/09 at 3:31 a.m., Cody A. Espaniola, 23, of 21 Maplehurst, Apt. B16, Phoenix, NY, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, after he was found to be in possession of a pipe containing marijuana residue. The arrest was the result of the investigation into a traffic stop that occurred at the intersection of CR 48 and CR 42 in the Town of Minetto. Mr. Espiniola was a passenger in the stopped vehicle. Mr. Espaniola was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Minetto Court on 9/10/09.

On 8/29/09 at 7:42 p.m., Noah M. Burk, 19, of 5532 SR 104, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Criminal Mischief, Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from the investigation into an incident that occurred on 8/27/09, during which he allegedly shot a BB gun toward the road, striking and causing damage to a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado as it drove west on SR 104 near Klocks Corners Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. Mr. Burk was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Scriba Court on 9/14/09. The matter remains under investigation at this time.

On 8/29/09 at 8:59 p.m., Bryan M. Burridge, 22, of 3 Lakeshore Road, Fulton, NY, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, stemming from the investigation into an incident that occurred on West First Street in the City of Fulton. Mr. Burridge was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charge before Fulton City Court on 9/10/09.

On 8/30/09 at approximately 3:40 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to Kasoag Lake in the Town of Williamstown on a reported drowning. Investigation revealed Joshua A. Spicer, 14, of 39 Beaver Lodge Road, Altmar, NY (Town of Williamstown), who had been swimming in the lake, was later found unresponsive in the water. Mr. Spicer was subsequently transported to the Rome Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
