Sheriff’s Department 06/23/2008

On 6/20/08 at 9:00 a.m., Christopher R. Phillips, 21, of 3 Kline Drive, Pennellville, NY, was arrested based on a bench warrant issued by Oswego City Court charging him with Assault, Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor. Mr. Phillips was arraigned before the Hon. James Metcalf and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to answer the charge before Oswego City Court on 7/01/09.
At 12:35 p.m., Mr. Phillips was again arrested at the Oswego County Correctional Facility on a bench warrant issued by Oswego County Court charging him with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Fourth Degree, a class E felony, stemming from an incident that occurred in July of 2007 when he was allegedly found to be in possession of an ATV stolen from a Town of Schroeppel residence. Mr. Phillips was arraigned before Town of Schroeppel Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $$1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 6/24/08.On 6/20/08 at 4:27 p.m., a 16 year old male residing in the City of Fulton was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after he was accused of attempting to leave the Wal-Mart store located in the Town of Granby with items for which he had not paid. The youth was released on an appearance ticket and will answer the charge before Town of Granby Court on 7/07/08.

On 6/20/08 at 5:48 p.m. Joseph O. Schouten, 23, of 4804 Salina St., Pulaski, NY, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Oswego County Court charging him with Attempted Burglary, Third Degree, a class E felony. Mr. Schouten was transported to the Oswego County Correctional Facility where he is being held without bail pending a court appearance before Oswego County Court on 6/23/08.

On 6/20/08 at 7:26 p.m., Matthew J. Fratello, 23, of 1031A Co. Rt. 12, Pennellville, NY, was arrested based on a warrant charging him with Violation of Probation. Mr. Fratello was arraigned before the Hon. Frances Ciardullo, Town of Schroeppel Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 6/24/08.

On 6/20/08 at 11:55 p.m., William A. Sweeting, 31, of 817 CR 1, PO Box 54, Oswego, NY, was charged with Trespass, a violation, after he returned to the Volney Field Days after being told to leave following a verbal dispute in which he was previously involved. Issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Volney Court on 6/30/08, Mr. Sweeting was released to a third party.

On 6/21/08 at 2:14 a.m., Michael G. Lang, 54, of 653 CR 25, Oswego, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and Failure to Keep Right, following a traffic stop in the Town of Minetto after he allegedly forced a patrol unit to drive up onto a sidewalk to avoid being struck head on when Mr. Lang reportedly drove around a curve on CR 24 entirely in the westbound lane. Mr. Lang was arraigned before the Hon. Patricia Kerfien, Town of Volney Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Minetto Court on 6/26/08.

On 6/21/08 at 4:42 p.m., Eric J. Johansen, 34, of 289 Greenfield Ave., Apt. Apt. L5, Ballston Spa, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree (suspended 5/23/08 for failure to pay child support), and Speed in Zone, following a traffic stop after he was observed driving at a high rate of speed while traveling eastbound on Harwood Drive in the Village of Lacona. Mr. Johansen was released on tickets returnable to Town of Sandy Creek Court on 7/10/08 and released to a third party.

On 6/21/08 at 6:31 p.m., Robin L. Johnson, 40, of 53 Silk Road, Fulton, NY, was charged with Operation While Registration Suspended (insurance lapse on 2/22/08) following a traffic stop initiated after a License Plate Reader targeted her vehicle as she drove northbound on Silk Road. Ms. Johnson was released and will answer the charge before Town of Volney Court on 6/30/08.

On 6/21/08 at 7:25 p.m., Brent J. Bartlett, 21, of 413 Cedar St., Fulton, NY, was ticketed for Operation While Registration Suspended after a License Plate Reader targeted his vehicle as he drove eastbound on SR 3 in the Town of Volney. Further investigation found Mr. Bartlett’s registration suspended due to an insurance lapse on 3/10/08. Released on a ticket, Mr. Bartlett is scheduled to appear before Town of Volney Court on 6/30/08 to answer the charge.

On 6/21/08 at 8:15 p.m,, Robert F. Brace, Jr., 28, of 344 W. Third St., Oswego, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree, and Transparency of Windows (windshield tint violation), following a traffic stop on SR 481 in the Town of Volney. Mr. Brace was arraigned before Town of Volney Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 6/30/08.

On 6/21/08 at 10:00 p.m., Paul K. Greeno, 38, of 137 Ames St., Mexico, NY, was charged with Harassment, Second Degree, a violation, after he allegedly punched a man in the face as the victim, working security for the Volney Field Days, was attempting to check on Mr. Greeno, who was reported to be ill near the stage. Mr. Greeno was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before town of Volney Court on 8/04/08.

On 6/22/08, Bryan M. Burridge, 20, of 3 Lakeshore Road, Fulton, NY, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, and Failure to Keep to the Right, following a traffic stop after he was observed driving westbound on Oneida Street in the City of Fulton, reportedly partially crossing into the eastbound lane several times. Mr. Burridge was released on tickets and turned over to a third party. He is scheduled to answer the charges before Fulton City Court on 6/26/08.

On 6/22/08 at 4:04 a.m., Robert J. Fortino, 33, of 379 Baratier Road, Hastings, NY, was arrested for Assault, Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor. Mr. Fortino was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Hastings Court on 7/14/08. The arrest stems from a complaint that Mr. Fortino caused physical injury to a male after he allegedly hit the victim in the face several times, an act that took place just before midnight on 6/21/08 while at the Hastings Hotel.

On 6/22/08 at 5:30 p.m., Shaun M. Salsbery, 29, of 419 No. Sixth St., Fulton, NY, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Town of Scriba Court charging him with Burglary, Third Degree. Mr. Salsbery was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on 6/26/08.
