FULTON – Due to the virus COVID-19, students and staff are now required to wear masks throughout the school day.

There are many students who dislike wearing the masks for reasons such as comfort. Yet, not all students dislike wearing the masks.

Senior Damien Reidell said, “Oh I absolutely love it. I feel much more confident behind a mask.”

Masks can make those who do not feel confident feel more secure and comfortable.
The safety of masks is often questioned by many. Some believe they do not help and they see them as a burden. Some believe they can help stop the spread of the virus. Though, some have a neutral feeling about masks.

Senior Damien Hickman said, “I haven’t felt unsafe since April, so the masks don’t change how safe I feel.”

Although this deadly virus is going around, many people seem to feel comfortable going into public and to school each day.

Students are in school for about five hours a day so some teachers decided to allow their students to have mask breaks where they can remove their masks as long as they stay a safe distance from each other. Many agree with this as it gives their ears a break from the mask and allows them to really get some fresh air. Despite this, there are still some students who disagree with the mask breaks that teachers are allowing.

Senior Dominic Berry said, “I personally think it’s a very brainless thing to do. The whole threat of this virus and they’re putting kids in a room together and allowing them to take their masks off?”

Some students have incredibly strong opinions on when and how masks should be worn throughout the school day as they believe masks will help keep them safe.

The COVID-19 outbreak has greatly impacted everyone’s daily lives, as socially distancing and wearing masks when around others and out in public is now necessary. Schools have had to accommodate to these new rules and now students and staff each day have to wear masks.

Wearing masks has now become a part of everyday life. Some agree with them, others disagree, but despite all this students and staff are still required to wear them. missing or outdated ad config
