Oswego River report:
According to Larry Muroski of Larry’s Oswego Salmon Shop:
The river flow has been up some the last few days running between 11,000-14,000cfs. This morning it is flowing at 11,900cfs. The higher water, some snow and wind made for difficult conditions along the river on Wednesday. With this higher flow, areas such as Lock 7, the Kiddie Pool and behind the hotels are suggested areas for steelhead, brown trout and rainbow activity. Trout beads, egg sacs, pink worms, estaz eggs and woolly buggers are suggested baits.
Salmon River report:

With the recent rain the water level is running at 900cfs. On Wednesday we had high winds with lake effect snow and the temperature reached into the mid 20’s. With the holiday, fishing pressure did increase. The upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville got the most attention. Anglers who did well in the lower end of the river were fishing the transition water and getting into fresh fish. In the upper end of the river, anglers did well in the head and tailout of the larger pools and in the softer water along the edges. Suggested baits are estaz eggs, egg sucking leaches, woolly buggers, and sucker spawn.
According to Douglaston Salmon Run:
Tuesday from the glide to the Joss Hole produced fish on blue sacs and egg patterns. The flow is at 900cfs. Conditions have improved from yesterday with light winds and the snow has moved out of the area.
Oneida Lake report:
The night casting for walleyes has slowed down with some activity still reported near Dutchman’s and Lewis Point. Perch are being taken along the rockpiles with worms and minnows. With the above average temperatures we have been experiencing, the ice fishing season will be shorter this year.
Sandy Pond report:

Activity on the pond is quiet. Colder temperatures are expected early next week but we will have to wait and see if it stays that way for an extended period of time.
Winter Trail Report:
Snowmobile Trails:
According to the Redfield Sno-Rec Club:
We received 6-8 inches of light, fluffy lake effect snow on Wednesday with more in the Little John area. With the rain we had the day before there is lots of water so ride with caution.
Cross-Country Ski Trails:
According to the Osceola Tug Hill Ski Club:
Although we have had up to 40 inches of snow so far, the warmer temperatures and rain have continually depleted the base. We received 18 inches in the past three days and hopefully colder temperatures are here to stay. Trails are groomed with a 4-8 inch base and 6-14 inches through the woods.
