Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.Oswego River/Lake Ontario report:

According to Larry Muroski of Larry’s Oswego Salmon Shop:Low, low water this morning. The flow dropped to 800cfs yesterday afternoon; up to 1200cfs early today.
Look for a variety of species at the dam. From the Utica St. bridge north brown trout, steelhead and rainbows are taking nightcrawlers, leeches and stickbaits. Look for walleye in the same area and near the lighthouse and flatrock. Boat anglers are using stickbaits; shore anglers are using stickbaits, nightcrawlers, bucktail jigs, leeches, and twister tails in the following colors – motor oil, black, chartreuse and green speckled. Bass are being taken on a catch and release basis only using minnows, worms, stickbaits, spinnerbaits and spoons. Sheephead are responding to crayfish, crankbaits, and nightcrawlers.Lake Ontario report:
There was a slow brown trout bite this weekend with the calm water and bright sunlight. Very early in the morning is your best chance of finding brown trout action. Anglers were reporting the deeper water was producing a good number of lake trout along with a few Atlantics, steelhead and even a salmon or two.Mexico Bay report:
According to Capt. Gerry Bresadola of B & B Sportfishing Charters:On most days the early bird not only catches the worm, he also catches the brown trout. When the water is clear and the sky is clear allowing major sun penetration and you want to catch browns, you need to be the early bird. With conditions such as this, there is usually an early catching flurry and then whammo, the bite becomes difficult. So get your sleep and start early. Not too much to report on Chinook fishing yet, but expect the big guys to show up soon. The 100 to 130 foot depths offer some good lake trout fishing from Oswego well into Mexico Bay.Pulaski Area report:
According to Dave Wood of Woody’s Tackle:Although the weather pattern has been good for a few days, the bright sunny days and flat water are not necessarily the angler’s friend. Brown trout fishing seems to be a bit tougher under these conditions. Early in the morning look for some activity trolling in 8-12 feet of water and move out to about 15-30 feet later in the day. Spoons weighted off the downriggers and stickbaits are working well.Oneida Lake report:
The walleye bite has been somewhat scattered this week. It has been good one day in a particular area but quiet the next. If you don’t find much activity in the spot you’re in, move around. Look in 20-30 feet of water trolling worm harnesses or jigging with nightcrawlers and stickbaits.Sandy Pond report:
According to Capt. Troy Creasy of High Adventure Sportfishing Charters:Sandy Pond fishing has been good for bluegills, perch and walleye, but the Big Northern Pike have been the real story lately. Look for a lot of action with large shiners, large spoons and live bait. Fish the drop offs and weedbeds. I am hearing reports of numerous fish over ten pounds.
