1. (-) Tim Jedrzejek. #8 Craig Reed-owned Allegresso Chassis. Another race at Sandusky produced another strong run for Timmy J. Jedrzejek set fast time, won his heat, and then passed his teammate to take the win in the feature. In doing so, he became the first repeat winner of the year in not only in MSA, but the Eastern States in supermodified competition. Tim is starting to stretch out his point lead to where a bad night would still have him in the lead.
2. (+2) Bob Dawson. #28 Craig Reed-owned Reed/Dawson Chassis. Bob completed a top-two sweep for the Reed’s Salvage team. If cautions had fallen differently, he might have been able to hold off the 8 and be the one sitting in victory lane. Dawson gets overshadowed by his teammate often times, but don’t be fooled. Bobby is a top contender and should pick up a win this season.
3. (+2) Tim Ice. #77 Dave and Lori May-owned Bodnar Chassis. The Iceman had an eventful night at Sandusky. After winning his heat race, he was involved in an incident midway through the feature. After repairs were made, Tim wheeled the 77 almost back to a top five, settling for sixth. Ice is another strong runner who continually knocks on the door for that elusive victory.
4. (-2) Randy Burch. #49 Steve Stout-owned Bodnar Chassis. Coming off the win at Lorain, Burch looked to eat into Jedrzejek’s point lead some more. Instead, the 49 had a forgettable night, ultimately ending up tenth after a mid-race restart caused a jingle. Randy will be one of the main contenders to be the first “King of the Wings,†as ACME Racing will try to repeat their 1-2 sweep from May. Maybe the 49 will be the one leading at the end this time.
5. (+1) Jack Smith. #09 Jack Smith-owned Bodnar Chassis. Jack nailed down his first top five of the season at Sandusky, coming home fourth. After coming off a sixth at Lorain, Smith appears to have the 09 headed in the right direction.
6. (+2) Trent Stephens. #19 Steve Stout-owned Bodnar Chassis. Trent hopped back up on the podium after a few races the 19 was barely a part of. Stephens has shown he has the speed to run with the leaders all year despite not being around at the end for the last few. He also is still undefeated at Oswego, which bodes well for the young hot shoe going into the big show July 11th.
7. (-4) Charlie Schultz. #7 Dave and Lori May-owned Bodnar Chassis. Schultz had another top five in the works at Sandusky, only to have a spindle break. The DNF also hurt Charlie in the point standings, as he dropped from third to fourth. The May team always brings fast cars to the track, yet they have not won yet this season. Between Charging Charlie and the Iceman, that won’t last long.
8. (+1) Matt Palmer. #21 Wayne Palmer-owned Muldoon Chassis. Coming off a ninth at Lorain, Palmer picked up another top ten, taking the checkered in seventh. Matt avoided the carnage that ended the nights for other competitors and kept the 21 going straight. While he might not have the speed yet, “Matt the Cat†is constantly learning and is usually around at the end of the race.
9. (New) Denny Fisher. #81 Todd Tetzlaff Owned Gibson Chassis. After a top five at Sandusky earlier this year, Fisher brought the Tetzlaff 81 back out and scored another top five with it. With those kinds of results, you’d like to see them at the track all year to add to the already great competition.
10. (-3) Rich Reid. #55 Joe Gillingham-owned Gosek Chassis. Rich and the Gillingham crew worked their butts off to finish ninth at Sandusky. Reid was involved in a couple of accidents that sidelined many. The first one required some hasty repairs to get the 55 back out. This team has to be hoping for a night where they can just adjust on the car, rather than making repairs.
