Lexington, NC – This Spring, C&C Racing Promotions will bring the ground-pounding Supermodifieds back to the state of North Carolina. On April 15, 2011, C&C Racing will host the Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC; bringing the powerful winged machines back to the state for the first time in over two years.
“We are very happy to have the opportunity to work with MSA to bring Supermodified racing back to the fans of North Carolina,” said Chad Kepley of C&C Racing Promotions. “It is always a pleasure to work with the competitors of MSA and the entire organization.”
“Ace Speedway is a beautiful facility,” said Randy Burch, MSA President. “We are looking forward to being there on April 15, 2011.”

“Our goal is to put on a great show for the fans that do not get to see Supermodified racing during the season,” continued Randy Burch, “and to create new fans to bring awareness to the Supermodifieds.”
The Midwest Supermodified Association is a series that sanctions both winged and non-winged Supermodified events in the Midwest; primarily at the short tracks in Ohio. In 2010, MSA celebrated its tenth anniversary with a 10-race schedule. Charlie Schultz of Lorain, OH, was honored as the series champion. A total of six drivers visited victory lane in the ultra-competitive division.
On April 15, 2011, the Midwest Supermodified Association will kick off the 2011 season with their first point race at Ace Speedway.
“This will be MSA’s eleventh year and we feel that expanding into North Carolina will be beneficial to our series, the fans in the south, and to the future of Supermodified racing,” said Kevin Jaycox, MSA Advisor.
MSA officials anticipate a strong turn out by their competitors for the Ace Speedway event next year. In addition to a solid field of MSA teams, the event is expected to draw cars for other sanctioning bodies as well.
It has also been reported that the event will be televised on Fox Sports South. Additional details will be forthcoming regarding the broadcast.
It has been over two years since Southern fans have been treated to the ultra-fast brand of Supermodified racing. In 2008, the Supers converged on the state of North Carolina with a double-header at Concord Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, for the running of the East-West Supermodified Shootout (in conjunction with the annual North-South Shootout) and Southern National Speedway in Kenly, NC. Dave McKnight of Brampton, Ontario, Canada and Mark Sammut of London, Ontario, Canada split the victories.

C&C Racing Promotions has emerged as one of the premier independent promoters in short track racing. With the annual North-South Shootout TM drawing both teams and fans from far and wide the event has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious events in asphalt short track racing.
