FULTON, NY (By Dave Medler) – The streak had to end sooner or later.
Last Saturday night was the first regular season race that the Fulton Speedway lost to mother nature since 2011.
The speedway is ready to swing back into action as Tracey Road Equipment, a major backer of the Brewerton and Fulton speedways and title sponsor of the Big Block Modifieds at both tracks, presents a night of family, fun, high speed racing action this Saturday, August 3 at the Fulton Speedway.
On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks. The Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club will also be racing on the “High Banks.”
Here is a look back on the racing and the points coming into this Saturday night.
Back on July 20 many fans are still calling the Modified race they witnessed “The Race Of The Year.” And what a race it was, with the winner in doubt till the checker flag waved. Chris Hile grabbed his first ever Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified win over Chad Phelps, Dan Vauter, Billy Decker and Larry Wight. The race was so close, that first to fourth place was only separated by 0. 457 of a second at the finish.
With only a handful of points paying nights left, it looks like it’s going to go down the final night. No driver has been able to put a tight grip on any position in the top-five. Pat Ward (522) Ryan Phelps (522) Billy Decker (496) Larry Wight (495) Chad Phelps (492).
The SUNY Canton Sportsman put on a barnburner of their own in the 20 lap feature. Nick Krause in his first full season outdueled Matt Janczuk and Cory Barker for his first career win. Just like the Modifieds their feature was in doubt until the finish. The top three less than a second apart at the checkers.

In 2013 the NAPA Late Models have had great racing week in and week out, but it’s been a season of win streaks. It’s now seems it Dale Caswell’s turn, as he won the last two 20 lap feature events.
Like the Modifieds, no driver in the Late Models has been able to grab the point lead and stay there. Here is the top-five in standings. Dale Caswell (600) Rick Miller (592) Alan Fink (566) AJ Kingsley (506) Sean Beardsley (470).
The quality of the racing and the car counts continues to grow in the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman. Last Saturday night, a season high 18 cars took the green with Ron Ingison who makes only a start or two a season taking the feature win over past winners Gary Hoppins and Jeremy Dygert.

Gates will open Saturday at 5:00 with racing at 7:00. Adult admission will be $12 with everyone 18 yrs old and younger FREE. Pit admission will be $25 Members/$30 Non-Members.
Starting this Monday, August 5 tickets will go on sale for one of the most prestigious races in the Northeast, the 28th Annual Outlaw 200 Weekend, October 4-5.
