County Legislature Gets Reorganized For 2010
There are some new names as the legislature welcomed five new members today (Jan. 7). The lawmakers also approved an intermunicipal agreement with the town of Scriba and Oswego City School District regarding negotiations with Constellation Energy’s nuclear power plants at Nine Mile Point.

Oswego Hospital Welcomes First Baby Of 2010
Josephine Katelyn France was born in Oswego Hospital at 4:42 a.m. Jan. 1, 2010. She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. She is the daughter of Rita Powers and Brandon France, of Oswego.

Oswego’s 2010 Budget Approved
The tax rate will stay the same as this year at $8.98 per $1,000 assessed and the city’s only pool is spared. However, the sewer fees will triple. The city will be able to purchase some new equipment – thanks to Sen. Aubertine.

Performers Sought For Harborfest 2010
Oswego Harborfest is seeking applicants for performance slots for the 2010 edition of the festival slated for July 22 – 25. Applications must be completed and returned to the Harborfest office with all requested information by no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2010.
