Fulton Officials Thank Assemblyman Barclay for $100,000 Grant at Veterans Park

City officials invited NYS Assemblyman Will Barclay to Fulton to thank him for his work in securing a $100,000 legislative grant to install a stairway at Veterans Park. The cement stairway will connect Veterans Park on South First Street across from City Hall to the Oswego River waterfront. Barclay was welcomed by city officials, local volunteer effort leaders, and veterans as they commended him for his help in securing funds. “It’s very important to us because for years we’ve been trying to develop our waterfront,” Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. said. “I’m really excited, I think the people of Fulton should give a lot of thanks to Assemblyman Barclay. Community Leaders React to $10M for Downtown Oswego

Governor Andrew Cuomo made a trip to Oswego (July 14) to formally announce the city’s status as a Downtown Revitalization Initiative funding winner in the Central New York region. As a winner of this funding, Oswego will receive ten million dollars to use as means to revamp the downtown area of the city, one of ten overall winners out of 122 total applications throughout each region of the state. Mayor of Oswego, William Barlow Jr., referred to as “one of the youngest, but also one of the best in the state” by Governor Cuomo, was prideful of the application the city had developed and was overjoyed it had been selected.
