Two members of the CiTi Board of Education representing two separate Oswego County school districts have died within one week of each other. Janice Clark, 83, of Mexico passed away December 29, 2017, and Casey Brouse, 51, of Parish, passed away January 4, 2018. Clark was an active member of both the Mexico Central School District Board of Education as well as the CiTi Board of Education at the time of her passing. Brouse was president of the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Board of Education as well as a member of the CiTi Board of Education at the time of his passing.
The Fulton City School District Board of Education heard from district superintendent at CiTi, Chris Todd as he pitched the possibility of funding a long term study for the district. Todd asked the board of education to consider allowing a study to occur within FCSD. A very comprehensive, deep, long study to show data regarding the opportunities the district offers, the opportunities all the districts in the region offer, and longer term projections for about five to ten years out to look at the sustainability of them.
CiTi, the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently hosted the 12th annual Regional Awareness Program for young drivers to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. The three hour program, which recurs every year in early spring as warm weather arrives and prom season approaches, delivered powerful stories from victims of drunk driving as well as the current Oswego County District Attorney and offered numerous hands on demonstrations to the effects of distracted driving.
CiTi, the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation held an open house recently for families of students and members of the community to see the results of the buildings remodel and to boast the many services they offer. Located at the Mexico campus, CiTi (formerly known as Oswego BOCES) serves over 1,000 students every day from nine school districts in the county.
