Fulton, Firefighters Headed to Interest Arbitration

Labor agreement negotiations between the city of Fulton and the International Association of Firefighters, the union representing the city’s firefighters, have remained at a standstill. Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. said the next step is to enter into interest arbitration, scheduled to begin in late June.

A Deeper Look at Fulton Water, Sewer, Garbage Rate Increase

The Fulton Common Council unanimously approved the proposed increase in the city’s water, sewer, garbage, and base water rates and also unanimously approved the increase for treatment of leachate and septage hauler disposal rates. Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. and Commissioner of Public Works Charles Smith Jr. presented the proposed rates as well as background information and numerous graphs before opening a public hearing.

Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward has proclaimed the Fulton Jazz Festival, Aug. 7-8, “Fulton Jazz Weekend, ” said event co-chair, Joe Cortini. In addition, the city of Fulton and the Tobacco Free Network of Central New York have partnered with the event to make it a “tobacco free” festival.
