Grant Money Will Bring New Homes To Fulton’s Phillips St. Neighborhood

A vacant lot on Phillips St. in Fulton won’t be vacant much longer.

The state awarded the city grants totalling $362,000 to build four homes on the lot and to hook them into the city’s water and sewer systems.

“It adds tax base and brings new families to Fulton,” Mayor Ron Woodward said recently.

City of Fulton Taking Another Property For Rehab

There’s yet one more home for the city of Fulton’s new program of rehabbing homes and selling them at market rates.

Aldermen Tuesday night agreed to accept a home at 423 Erie St. from the Oswego County Department of Social Services.  Social Services received the home from the Florence McEwen estate in July, 2006, according to the deed filed for the property transfer.

Fulton, Oswego Councilors Share Ideas To Improve Their Cities

Fulton lawmakers shared the best idea they think they’ve had in a while — renovating homes seized for back taxes and selling them at market value to generate more money to fix up more homes.  Oswego lawmakers talked about their efforts to enforce housing codes in a city with lots and lots of college rentals and some notorious landlords.

It was the first time legislators from the sister cities had gotten together in one room in perhaps decades.

Goldberg’s Building Reborn As ‘129 Cayuga’ Condos, Public Open House Oct. 18 & 19

</p>After nearly two years of renovations and a  $2 million investment, the former Goldberg's Furniture building has been reborn as 129 Cayuga Condominiums, Inc., it was announced by Douglas Caster, property developer. The basement has been converted to a 12-space parking area, the main floor holds three commercial/retail spaces ranging from 4,000 to 1,600 sq. ft., and the top floor has eight condominiums. There will be an open house preview for licensed real estate brokers and sales agents only on Friday, Oct. 17 and an open house for the general public from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sat. Oct. 18 and Sun.
