Memorial Day Salute Picks Poster Contest Winners

The Memorial Day Salute Committee recently announced the winners  of the annual Poster Contest held to create a patriotic poster in  keeping with "America the Beautiful".  Taking first place as  the winner of this year's poster contest is Jessica DeLapp.   Pictured  from left is Tom Mirabito, MDS Treasurer;  Cheyenne Manford, third  place; Jessica DeLapp, first place, Rebecca Pierce, second place, Mary  Pierce,  Art Instructor and Carol Vescio, MDS Publicity.  The winners  are art students at Cayuga Community College.  Many thanks to all of the  students who participated in this contest.  All posters will be  displayed at the event held this year on May 28 and 29.The Memorial Day Salute Committee recently announced the winners of the annual Poster Contest held to create a patriotic poster in keeping with “America the Beautiful”.

29th Annual Fulton Memorial Day Salute Thanks Our Veterans

As in the past years, the event will feature the biggest and the best Saturday morning parade, local and national music groups, a great food court, drinks, face painting, a magician and rides. All entertainment is offered free to the public.

Memorial Day Salute Taking Part In “Operation Uplink”

Pictured are Frank Kehoe, Fulton Veterans Council, Larry Macner, VFW Representative and Donna Kestner, Director of Veterans Services.Operation Uplink was launched in 1996 to connect active-duty troops and hospitalized veterans with their loved ones. The program uses contributions from supporters to purchase phone time for the men and women who are serving, or have served, as well as hospitalized veterans.

Salute Organizers Meet With Veteran Of The Year

The Memorial Day Salute is a two-day event that was created and is now carried on by representatives of the four Fulton service clubs: Rotary, Sunrise Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions.  The service clubs are assisted by the Fulton Veterans Council. Pictured are the presidents of the service clubs and the Veteran of the Year.  Pictured from left are: John Kruk, Kiwanis, Jerry Sequin, Rotary, John LaClair, Veteran of the Year, Donna Kestner, Sunrise Rotary and David Guyer, Lions.  This year the 29th Annual Memorial Day Salute will be held May 28th and 29th.

Kemmis Named Chairman Of Memorial Day Salute

The Chairman of this year's 29th Annual Memorial Day Salute, to be held on May 28 and 29, 2010, is Dick Kemmis.  John LaClair, Veteran of the Year, will serve as Grand Marshall of the Saturday parade. Entertainment will be announced soon, with  fireworks  following the Friday night entertainment  Kemmis, left, is pictured with Mayor Ron Woodward.

The Chairman of this year’s 29th Annual Memorial Day Salute, to be held on May 28 and 29, 2010, is Dick Kemmis.

Veteran of the Year Named For Memorial Day Salute Duties

Each Fall, the Fulton Veteran’s Council chooses a "Veteran of the Year" from among the membership of several Fulton veteran’s organizations. This year, John LaClair was named "Veteran of the Year". Mr. LaClair will be the Grand Marshall for the Memorial Day Salute Parade on May 29th. The parade is sponsored by the Fulton Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary and Sunrise Rotary service clubs, in cooperation with the Fulton Veteran’s Council.  Pictured are: Mr. LaClair (left) and Mayor Ron Woodward.

This year, John LaClair was named “Veteran of the Year”. Mr. LaClair will be the Grand Marshall for the Memorial Day Salute Parade on May 29th.
