The third annual Day of Sharing benefit for this holiday season’s US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program will be held on Saturday, November 26th at the Quality Inn & Suites Riverfront Hotel, located at 70 East First Street in Oswego.
A resolution to initiate a request for proposals to explore alternatives for home health care in the county was sent back to the committee level at this month’s legislature meeting. Legislators have several questions about how this will impact the county’s employees and budget. An underutilized facility at the former Miller Brewery in Volney could help boost economic development in the region. “They have an asset right now that is an underutilized wastewater treatment plant that is actually large enough to serve a city with a population of 350,000 people. It’s a real shame to have an asset like that sit unused,” proponents of the project said.
