Sandra Scott Travels: Malta Rebuilt Following Thousands of Bombing Raids

Many things about Malta surprised me. First of all I was surprised to learn that it was one of the most intensely bombed places during World War II. After the war, reconstruction remained true to the Maltese architecture. Because Malta has retained its architectural integrity and has some unique geological formations, the island has been used in many movies such as “Troy” and “Conan.” I was also surprised that Malta does not get more coverage as a must-do destination in Europe.

John and I were invited to a wedding in Louisville, Kentucky, so we arrived a day early so we could explore Louisville. It was our first trip to the city. We headed to the West Main District that has some of the oldest structures in the city including some with cast iron facades. We toured the Evan Williams Bourbon Museum.

Sandra Scott Travels: All Aboard For A Cruise Along NYS Waterways

I have always been intrigued by rivers. The Hudson, Mohawk, and St. Lawrence Rivers made NYS the Empire State. The waterways were used by the Native Americans, explorers, armies, and settlers. Not only was it a key to the development of New York State but to the expansion of the United States; and, it still is. Traveling the length of the New York State’s waterways was at the top of my bucket list.
