Oswego Board Member and Superintendent Lock Horns Again, This Time In Middletown
Oswego school board member Fran Hoefer went to to Middletown to defend Middletown school board member Roy Paul who is in danger of being kicked off the board for misconduct. However, Hoefer was removed form the meeting by police and not allowed to comment because he isn’t a taxpayer in that district.


At Tuesday’s budget workshop, the Oswego School Board told the administrators what kind of budget they’d like to see for the next school year. Though they didn’t exactly agree on how to get there, board members said there’s no room for a tax increase.
Board member Fran Hoefer was already slated to attend the upcoming New York State Schools Boards Association Conference. After a lengthy discussion, the board agreed to allow Sean Madden to go as well.
School board members hear about how important music is to a student’s overall education. According to one district’s study, the greater the students’ involvement in music, the less likely they are to drop out.
