Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) have announced the release of the New York State Greenway Trails Progress Report (August 2021-December 2022), which outlines the accomplishments made, the projects initiated, and the funding secured by state, local, and non-profit partners between August 2021 and December 2022. Fulton Footpaths Applies for Construction Grant

Fulton Footpaths, the volunteer committee working to create a system of multi-use heritage trails throughout the city of Fulton, has applied for a state-funded grant for the first phase of trail construction. Submitted to the NYS Department of State, the application for funding is to cover costs derived from a feasibility study to construct two out of eight total trails. The grant would fund up to $900,000 for construction work- a monetary value figured from a feasibility study completed by Syracuse-based Environmental Design and Research (EDR) that was secured through prior grant funding. Hiking The Trails At Great Bear

Members of the Onondaga chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club enjoyed a Sunday afternoon, hiking the trails at Great Bear. Great Bear Recreational Area is a non-motorized, share the trails wooded area adjoining the Oswego River/canal and old tow path. There are more than seven miles of marked trails.
