FULTON – Wayne E. Buske, 75, of Minetto, New York passed at his home on Sunday, March 10th, 2024.
He was born in Oswego, New York to the late Carl and Agnes (Flint) Buske. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Buske (Ruggio), in 2021. Wayne has been a resident of Minetto most of his life and was the owner/operator of Buske Collision for over 47 years.
Wayne was an all-around outdoorsman and spent the happiest times in his active life hunting, fishing, trapping, boating, and snowmobiling with friends and family. He was passionate about wildlife conservation and the many cats he and his late wife rescued though the years. Wayne was also an avid pool player and played regularly for many years with a local billiards league. He was also a car enthusiast with MGB’s and Shelby Cobra being his favorites to collect and restore.
He enjoyed helping when he could (mostly behind the scenes), with his son Steven’s super modified racing team and working on car restoration projects with him. He took great pleasure being a grandfather to three busy grandsons, teaching them about hunting and fishing and he enjoyed visiting and watching them play hockey in FL.
Wayne was a life-long friend to many and always tried to lend a helping hand, whether it was letting a friend use his shop to work on projects, borrow a car, plowing driveways for neighbors or doing pro-bono autobody repair work. His generosity will be missed by those closest to him.
Wayne is survived by his children Steven E. Buske of Fulton, NY (Caitlin Brown) Kim Marie Shepard of Naples, FL (David Shepard), grandsons, Quinn Shepard, Riley Shepard and Evan Shepard of Naples, FL, his brother Walter Buske and sister Elaine M. Reilly of Fulton. He was predeceased by his siter Joann Orr.
Funeral services will be Monday 11:00 at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday form 1:00 to 3:00 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you honor his life by making a donation to a local animal rescue organization, wildlife conservation program or simply do a kind deed for someone in need.
