Supermodified Simulators Shine at Parts Peddler Trade Show

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Speedway booth was certainly filled with activity during the 2012 National Parts Peddler Trade Show and Auction over the weekend.

From Friday through Sunday, no fewer than 100 rides were given on the Oswego Speedway Supermodified race simulators provided by LaGraf’s Pub of Oswego, raising $510 toward the Speedway foam block fund serving to protect the racer’s on the fast 5/8 mile oval.

Participants were given 15-laps of racing at Oswego Speedway in an ultra-fast winged Supermodified, which can be seen four times this coming season at Oswego during the ‘Steel Palace’ ISMA SuperSeries on May 4, June 8, July 13, and August 31.

At the end of three days of racing long-time Oswego crewman Steve Reynolds set the weekend’s fastest time on the simulators with a lap of 15.905 seconds.  Bob Hackel, father of dirt sportsman racer Bobby Hackel, clocked in second fastest at 16.097 seconds.

Mark Castiglia, a two-time winner in the Pathfinder Bank SBS Series at Oswego in 2012, set the third fastest time of the weekend with a lap of 16.118 seconds.

Travis Miller and another SBS racer, AJ Bernys, filled the Top 5 fastest times over the three-day period.

Castiglia and Bernys were not the only real time racers to take laps online at Oswego Speedway over the weekend.

SST Modified shoe Andy Jankowiak, DIRT Modified ace Jimmy Phelps, dirt sportsman regulars Rocky Warner and Kyle DeMetro, as well as Oswego regulars Dalton Doyle, Dave Danzer, and Kreig Heroth were among the many drivers to give the simulators a try.

Race fans who would like to run the Supermodified simulation during the year have a couple options.

LaGraf’s Pub, on East 10th Street in Oswego, holds a weekly simulation series on Thursday nights starting December 6.

Fans can also try the simulation online at www.suprs.net

The race software can be downloaded for a donation of $25, which goes toward the Dion Parish Memorial injured driver’s fund.

Oswego Speedway looks to continue its partnership with the LaGraf’s Pub Supermodified Simulators in 2013, as more dates will be announced in the future.

Porky and Buddy Pet Health – Summer Pool Fun With Pets

Summer is almost here and this year I am finally having an in-ground pool installed. My poodle, Rover, has never been around a pool before. I don’t even know whether he can swim. But he is sort of a doofus and I am concerned that he might just lumber in to follow me. Do you have any tips to keep him safe?
