Cub Scouts Learn About Reptiles

Local Cub Scout packs 809, 819, 885 and 888 went to G & G Reptile in Oswego to learn about different types of reptiles with a demonstration and hands on with the reptiles.

They also got to tour the zoo while they were there and play games.

The scouts were also asked to donate items for the zoo animals.

OFD, Animal Control Rescue Stranded Deer

On Thursday, the Oswego Fire Department units along with Animal Control personnel responded to a report of a deer stranded on the rock wall in the center of the river. Fire Department personnel responded in the fire/rescue boat and carefully eased the deer to shore to awaiting animal control personnel.

Donations Sought for 2013 APW Stuff-A-Bus

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Transportation Department, in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Oswego County, is once again gearing up for the Stuff-A-Bus Program. 2013 will mark the 10th year of the annual Stuff-A-Bus school supply drive at APW and is a combined school and community effort to ensure that every student is prepared for school.
