BERLIN RACEWAY SEPTEMBER 25-26 ISMA SHOW IS CANCELED

Oswego, NY – Word has been received from Berlin Raceway management that the upcoming ISMA doubleheader will not take place on the 25th and 26th of September as printed on the 2009 schedule. Citing excessive rainouts and the rescheduling of events because of that weather, plus financial constraints, ISMA was contacted as to the possibility of putting off the 2009 weekend until 2010. According to ISMA president Howie Lane, a 2010 date has already been confirmed.

The following explanation appears on the Berlin Raceway website: “Attention Berlin Drivers, Crews, and Fans: Due to the excessive number of rain-outs this season, the schedule has been changed. There will be a driver mailer sent out to the drivers with these details and more in the next couple days and it will also be posted on the website after it has been mailed.

“One change that you will see is the ISMA Super Modifieds have been removed from the schedule. We did not feel that it was necessary to bring in a high-dollar traveling series when our local drivers have not had many chances to race. ISMA has agreed to come back in 2010 instead of this season.”

Due to the loss of these two shows, Howie Lane is presently pursuing other venues for a possible new show to be added to the 2009 ISMA schedule. Details will be forthcoming if something materializes. A reminder to all those who have made hotel reservations for the Berlin show, that they should remember to cancel them soon.

Please note, while speaking of schedules. The All-Star Classic 100 has been moved from Sept. 19 to Saturday, October 10. According to the September ISMA newsletter, “The previously scheduled All-Star Classic date of September 19, 2009 has been canceled. Provided all goes well, the race has been rescheduled for October 10, 2009 with a rain date of Sunday, October 11. The Best Western – Seabrook has been booked as the ISMA hotel. Rooms are available at $86.40 a night for the 9th and 10th. Please call 603-474-3078 and ask for the ISMA group when making reservations.
