Oswego Pair Facing Drug Charges

OSWEGO, NY – On Oct. 30, the Oswego City Police Department, assisted by members of the United States Border Patrol, executed a search warrant at 208 E. Fifth St. in the city of Oswego.

During the search, investigators seized approximately 13.5 grams of cocaine, an undisclosed amount of cash, and an apparent stun gun disguised as a cell phone.

Arrested were 31-year-old Luis E. Veyan and 22-year-old Morgan L. Longley, both of 208 E. Fifth St.

Veyan and Longley were each charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance – intent to sell (B felony) and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (C felony).

Both Veyan and Longley were arraigned before the Honorable Judge John Elliott.

Veyan and Longley were remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility.

Veyan’s bail was set at $20,000 bail / bond, and Longley’s bail was set at $5,000 cash / $10,000 bond.

Both defendants are due to appear in Oswego City Court on Nov. 5.

“I would like to commend my investigators on a job well done. And, I would also like to thank the United States Border Patrol who assisted us by supplying needed manpower during the execution of the search warrant,” said Police Chief Michael Dehm Jr. “Additionally, I continue to encourage citizens to report illegal or suspicious activity.”
