Richard L. Proctor, Sr.
Richard L. Proctor, Sr., 76, of Fulton died Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
He was born in Oswego, the sone of the late Frederick and Louise Conley Proctor. He was retired from the Fulton City School District as a custodian in the Volney Elementary School. He was a veteran of the U.S. ARmy and a member of the Phoenix American Legion.
He was an entertainer in the Central New York area, playing with the bands Family Tradition and The Silvertones.
Survivors: Two sons, Kent Proctor of Lakeland and Richard Proctor of Palermo; two brothers, Frederick Proctor of Illinois and William Wallace of Bridgeport; a sister, Shirley Bellamo of Oswego.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at the Upson Corners Cemetery, Palermo. Arrangements are in charge of Harter Funeral Home, Mexico, NY.

Kent, I am so sorry to hear about your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your brother.
Thank you everyone for the kind words about my father. He was truly everything that Dave Bullard spoke about. Thank you Dave. That was all true, and many could see that about both of my parents. He will be missed terribly, as will my mother and Dutch, and all those that we have lost so very close to us. May God bless us all.
My father, Dutch Bullard, played drums with Dick and Dixie for decades. My brother, Brian, played drums for them as well and I sat in with them on many occasions.
Besides being one of the sweetest men ever to walk this Earth, Dick had the greatest “Jim Reeves-style” baritone voice I have ever had the pleasure to play behind. His voice was as smooth as honey, and so was his temperament.
He was a fine musician who gave thousands of people Friday and Saturday nights to remember. He was also a great and loyal friend to my late father and to my mother, who, when I told her that Dick had passed away, said: “They’re all gone now.”
And they are. The band is back together.

So sry for your loss, Dick was a wonderful guy.. I worked with him at Volney school for quite sometime.. He will be missed alot by many people.
A great person, great entertainer, great influence, those who knew him will surely miss him.
