School Board Recognizes Cancer Fighters

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City School District Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools recognized the contributions of Oswego students who shaved their heads for St. Baldrick’s Day in the effort to fight childhood cancer.

Students attending the recent board meeting ceremony included (front left to right) Emily Bradshaw, Joe DiBlasi, Devon Tonkin, Jack Hall and Ryan Bartlett.

In the second row are Carson Colucci, Spencer Stepien, Demetri Pappa and Adam Michalski.

In back are Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist, Nolan Busch, Avery Croucher, Tyler O’Grady and Board President William White.

Several other students also participated in the program, but were unable to attend the ceremony.

Lakeside Artisans Announce June Events

Release your inner artist at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St. During the month of June, the artists’ co-op is offering a variety of creative arts classes. In addition to classes, Lakeside Artisans will host a series of demonstrations by local artists on Thursday evenings during the farmers’ market.

Former Fulton Man Charged with Disorderly Conduct in Providence R.I.

According to authorities in Providence, R.I., a Fulton man is somehow involved in an assault that left a college basketball player hospitalized in critical condition. Around 2:23 a.m. on May 12, Joseph Sharkey, a Brown University basketball player was punched in the head, leaving him seriously injured. Sharkey fractured his skull on the concrete and was taken to a Rhode Island hospital. A Connecticut man was charged with the assault. Dillon James “DJ” Ingham of Fulton was charged with one count of disorderly conduct related to the incident.

Feyh Inducted into Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society

As Mohawk Valley Community College closes out its spring semester, Alycia Feyh has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Feyh is one of 26 new members added to the Lambda Beta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society with the completion of the spring 2013 semester.
