Oswego Sunrise Rotary Celebrates 4th Of July With American Revolution Soldier

OSWEGO, NY - On Thursday, July 3, George Clark presented a program on the uniform and equipment of the soldiers of the American Revolution.

Dressed in the uniform of a Continental Line Captain from New York, George described his equipment.

Rotary president George Reed, right, thanks George Clark for his program.The uniforms of his unit cost more than $2,000.

George has been involved with Continental  Arms Revolutionary War Interpretive Unit for more than 20 years.

The group used to run gun shows and other events.

His group is interpreters not re-enactors.

The group honors the graves of Revolution War soldiers, marches in parades and interprets the life of soldiers who won our independence.

The Sunrise Rotary members asked many questions and enjoyed Mr. Clark’s presentation.

The Sunrise Rotary meets each Thursday at 6:30 a.m. at the Oswego Tea Company, 157 E. First St., Oswego.
