Brush Rifles: Fact or Myth

For many years the debate has raged about which caliber is best in the brush. Equally debated is if any caliber is good in the brush. When most writers refer to the brush generally they refer to Northern Tier states and whitetail deer. Brush however covers a good deal of the Country. Brush is defined as bushes and young trees densely packed in a particular geographic area. For this topic I am going to stick with Northern states as their topography is covered with more brushy areas on average.

College’s Founder’s Day Program Focuses On School’s Influence On Education

Robert Schell, SUNY Oswego professor emeritus, will present a Founder’s Day program during College Hour on Tuesday, October 14, at 1:05 – 2:05 P.M., in the Historic Classroom of Sheldon Hall on the Oswego campus. Entitled, Sheldon’s Nine Commandments, the program is sponsored by the Oswego Emeriti Association. The presentation will give some understanding of the pioneering work done here in Oswego that had great influence on the development of education in America and other countries as well.

The year-old crisis on Wall Street is causing deep concern among Upstate families who have watched the value of their retirement, college and personal savings plummet along with the Dow. Along with lessons about deregulation, diversified portfolios and careful investing, we’re learning more about how Albany hedged our tax dollars, and made our economic recovery even more difficult.
