Harborfest 2009 Receives Positive Grade

<p>Once again, Harborfest's fireworks display was the crowning jewel for the festival.</p>

Tom Van Schaack describes his first Harborfest as a positive thing. “My first Harborfest was nothing but positive,” the new executive director said Sunday afternoon. Rain showers hampered some of the activities. However, most everybody took the rain in stride and laughed it off. “I need a bar of soap so I can take a bath,” quipped Joe Gunther during Sunday afternoon’s downpour.

Matt Sheppard Invades Fulton Speedway For Huge DIRTcar Modified Win

Sheppard started sixteenth on the grid and took the lead after an incredible 4-wide battle for the top spot on lap 18. The victory was nothing short of a miracle for Sheppard, as his No. 9 Extreme Lubricants Bicknell was severely overheating in victory lane and the rear end was glowing cherry red during the later stages of the event. Sheppard, a former track champion, last won at Fulton Speedway during the 2005 race season.

The following notice has been posted for Lake Ontario waters:
Remember the area around the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility is off limits to boating. The restricted area stretches 1,000 yards offshore and extends from the Alcan plant to the Sunset Bay area along Lake Ontario, east of the city of Oswego.
