A story courtesy of the U.S military brings us a tiny slice of life for some of our troops in Afghanistan. Ittells the tale of how a Marine from Fulton saw an Afghan man’s car roll down an embankment towards a river, and how he got the man the help he needed to save his car.
Thanks to the cooperative partnership between Entergy, the United Way, Success by Six, Oswego Sunrise and Noon Rotary as well as Fulton Rotary and the Oswego City School District, parents will have an opportunity to see that “Children do come with Directions.â€Â
Fulton Common Council meetings are likely to be a little less positive from now on, now that Bob Weston’s 16 year career as an Alderman is over. They’re also likely to be shorter.
Weston announced earlier this year he would not seek reelection as Alderman from the city’s third ward. A quick special meeting on Tuesday was the last hurrah of a political career that he said began by accident.
Granby Elementary School celebrated the importance of literacy with Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) Day held recently at the school.
One person is said to have died.
The fire was reported at about 4:00 a.m., officials said. It took more than an hour to bring it under control.
Route 11 through the village is shut down because of the fire.
