Oswego Falls In Tourney’s Championship Game

Oswego and Cicero-North Syracuse faced off in the Championship game of the Fulton Savings Bank tournament Monday. CNS used senior big man and tournament MVP six foot eight Andy Falvey along with six foot five Zachary Coleman to take advantage of an undersized Oswego front line on their way to a 75-68 victory. Falvey scored a game high 19 points and Coleman added 17, to go along with Josh Williams 10 points to lead the CNS.

Oswego Health Makes SSO Holiday Pops Tickets Available

Tickets are still available for Oswego Health’s annual Syracuse Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert to be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 20 at the Oswego High School. County’s Planned Emergency Radio System Gets A Small Boost From Feds

US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) announced that she has secured $200,000 for the project in the federal appropriations bill approved by the House and Senate over the weekend.

Fulton City Budget Goes To Public Hearing Tonight

The public can have its say tonight on the proposed budget for the city of Fulton.  The legally required public hearing on the budget begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Common Council chambers of Fulton City Hall.  The budget will spend about $120,000 more than the 2009 city budget, but the tax rate will not change.  It will stay at $16.40 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Port City Hands Over Armory’s Deed To YMCA

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council approved deeding the Armory to the YMCA. The YMCA is proposing some major alteration to the Armory, for which it must obtain funding. It is necessary for the YMCA to have ownership of the Armory in order to obtain the needed funding for the proposed project.
