Spring 2010 Was ‘Warmest On Record’
Summer begins at 7:28 a.m. today, taking over from a spring that was the warmest on record. The average temperature for spring 2010 was 50.8 degrees. That is 5.9 degrees warmer than usual, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service.
A View of History: Fulton, 1903
Our glimpse of local history this week takes us to 1903 for an image from the Library of Congress’s collection.
It’s a map of Fulton from that year. The Library of Congress believes the map was printed by A. E. Worden. It shows some of the businesses active in the city at the time.

OOC Presents Annual Activity Summary, Achievement Awards
The keynote speaker was Gary Center, new facility manager for the Sunoco ethanol manufacturing plant in Volney. They will produce 100 million gallons per year, he said That is about 25 percent of the ethanol Sunoco uses. The plant should be in operation by July 1, he added.
