Fulton Sunrise Rotarians Hear About Camp Good Days

Rotarian Peggy Donnelly, right, introduced Debbie Allen at a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meeting.  Allen presented a program about Camp Good Days and Special Times,  a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges.  Children with Cancer or who have a family member with Cancer can spend a week at this Camp located on Keuka Lake.  There are also Oncology Camp weekends for adults.  In 1979, with the help and support of many friends and community members in Rochester, New York, Gary Mervis founded Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc., in honor of his daughter.  Camp Good Days & Special Times is the largest organization of its kind for children with cancer in the entire country. With offices throughout Upstate New York and Central Florida, it has accomplished all of this without ever taking one dollar of government funding.  Since its inception, Camp Good Days has served more than 42,000 campers from 22 states and 25 foreign countries.        The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton's Riverside Inn.  Allen presented a program about Camp Good Days and Special Times, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges.

Oswego Health Finalizes Purchase of Lee Memorial and Phoenix Health Center Properties

The community moved one step closer toward realizing a newly renovated outpatient center in the city of Fulton as Oswego Health officially purchased the former A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital building, which now becomes known as the Fulton Medical Center.

Fulton City Budget Hearing, Adoption Set for Tuesday

Fulton’s 2011 city budget will be  discussed and is likely to be enacted at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Fulton Common Council.

Mayor Ron Woodward has said he will deliver a budget with no tax increase for 2011.

Basketball, kindergarteners and math provides for a winning combination. Coach Jessica Tremblay and several members of her Oswego High School girls’ jayvee basketball team took their strengths off the court and into the classroom.

Oswego High Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony Set Dec. 29

Milestone Years for One Family

2010 is a special year for this special family. Connie Scruton (far right) turned 60 years young on Sept. 5.  She was the guest of honor at a well-attended surprise party at Fallbrook Hall, Oswego.  Her sister, Betty-Jo Dumas, (2nd from right) turned 50 on August 2.  There was a celebration of this milestone at her home with many family members and friends.  On October 22, Connie's son, Chad Carter, will turn 30 years old, and her daughter, Holly Dorval, will turn 40 on December 16. They all are wished many magical moments in the coming year.

2010 is a special year for this special family.

Fulton Wrestlers Take Tri-Valley Tourney

Photo provided by Michele Earl.It was close, but Fulton’s team strength overcame some strong individual performances from an Eastern New York team to win the Tri-Valley Tournament in Camden.

Fulton’s 191 points edged Queensbury, with 175 points.
