Fulton Rotarians Hear About Project in Nigeria

Eastwood Rotarian Jennie Doane, left, spoke to the Fulton Noon Rotary Club recently on an international project she and her fellow Eastwood Rotarians are working on.  Jennie was introduced by Rotary Foundation Chairperson, Judy Young, on the right in the above photo.  Ms. Doane works at Upstate Medical and fully understands the need for modern usable medical equipment in hospitals.  She informed the Fulton Rotarians of her work with area hospitals to search out equipment that is no longer in use and supply this equipment to hospitals in Nigeria. Jennie is working hard to obtain the support of other Central New York Rotary Clubs to help with the expenses of this international project.   The money that is raised will help purchase medical equipment and also help with the enormous shipping cost that are associated with moving the equipment to Nigeria. She informed the Fulton Rotarians of her work with area hospitals to search out equipment that is no longer in use and supply this equipment to hospitals in Nigeria.

Nine Mile Point Employees Participate in Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Event

A group of employees from Constellation Energy Nuclear Group’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station spent Saturday morning rehabilitating a Habitat for Humanity home in Oswego. This was part of the company’s effort to support employee volunteerism in the local community.

Tango Music, Dance to Enliven Ballroom Stage Oct. 26

Tami Tango Trio founder Eduardo Tami plays his signature instrument as tango dancers glide across the stage. The trio and dancers will grace the Sheldon Hall ballroom stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in a performance that is free and open to the public. Parking in campus lots is free nights and weekends.The Tami Tango Trio of Buenos Aires will perform authentic tango music Tuesday, Oct. 26, at SUNY Oswego, as dancers demonstrate the sensual dance native to Argentina.

Oswego sports teams have been active during the past week.  Oswego swimmers and runners had solid individual performances in recent outings. Despite winning six of eleven events, the Oswego High School Lady Bucs swim team lost to Auburn 91-79.
